Easy Rider affected quite a few of us hippies. We were the enemy of status quo and convention. Most of us became what we fought against. Indeed, to have a family and a measure of success which benefited them, we had to. Some few did not sell out our deepest values though. It wasn't all debauchery and experimentation. There was acceptance of differences and love as well. And a lot of good music. In my Covid mask and with my Covid hair down my shoulders I was called ma'am for the first time recently and had to laugh. In those days it was a degrading term for those of us with long hair. Now it's a simple mistake. Still, I felt I had at last gained a badge of those who preceded me.
Anyway, I got tickets to see Blackberry Smoke next month. Carefully spaced seating at only a third capacity. It will still be good to see a concert again.

HaHa. I can see what you mean. With a face mask on it could be difficult to tell. At the moment I quite like going out with a face mask on because I can go to the Bread shop and the very nice girls in there can’t see that I haven’t shaved. :tsktsk:
Well done on getting tickets. Things must be more relaxed where you are. I don’t think any concerts are happening here apart from virtual ones and the one I watched online a month ago was clunky. It was strange watching members of an acoustic band, spaced apart and the only one not wearing a mask was the one singing. Sterile, you might say. :D

... miles at his best with an amazing band. But really the first chorus of Cannonball's solo is an incredible thing, just superb melodic development.
Yes I'm getting to like it. :D Your (
https://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=151138&p=2468087&viewfull=1#post2468087) hat (from another thread) caused me to watch (
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2cWP9bSiNzTd4e7fgB-h8Q/videos) all your videos. Excellent stuff and very nice editing style.
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrK7glTJ_Uk) Long ago and far away had me confused. I didn’t know the song and had to research it, listening to Jo Stafford, Doris Day, a clip from
Cover Girl, and then back to your instrumental video. That little black and white clip is intriguing and I still don’t understand. But then I am slow. (

She’s Lovely is seriously good. I still have
Sleep Walk by Santo & Johnny, 1959 (having progressed from Duane Eddy’s
Rebel Rouser) but prefer (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=su63T5RkCxg) your version, (Santo’s steel guitar seems a bit piercing these days) and I love all the stuff at your RSL gigs (I sang along with most. :D Pity I’m 9,000 miles away otherwise I’d be trying to get in).
I’m sure you know this song and may be fed up with it. I see it’s one of the Top 30 Australian songs of all time. This version is unaccompanied. A YouTuber says John Peel (late UK disc jockey, never ashamed to show emotion) played it twice on the same show and was rendered speechless. Allegedly the lady herself couldn't speak after singing it at a club. At school in England when I was 6 we were taught the words and meaning of “
Waltzing Matilda” so the song
“And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda” pulls many strings. I know ANZAC day is still weeks away but from a Pom, with respect, to Aussies and Kiwis …

Why? Lengthy story. It's both dull and boring, Leave now.
Since we're in lockdown, I've had way too much time to myself. I've started watching the Marvel MCU movies on Disney+. Most of them are ok. I was surprised, however, how godawfully crap Thor Ragnarok was. As a Scandinavian, it's always a bit iffy when clueless Americans misappropriate our culture. Fine. I'm used to that. At best, I'm a casual fan of MCU, but compared to all the other movies in the franchise, this was unexpetedly bad, But there were several scenes where they used rock music to emphasise the action, a great Led Zeppelin song called Immigrant Song. Fine. But they clearly missed a trick, They should have used, when talking about the God of Thunder, the Kiss song God Thunder. Easy goal. So I played that, and all the other heavy metal songs I listened to growing up. I went through all the old heavy metal I could remember listening to in the 80s. This one stood out. I'm nearly 50 now, and I found myself headbanging on my sofa, I'm pretty sure I'd have looked ridiculous to any potential observer, but I was REALLY enjoying it, for the first time in 30-odd years.
Sitting alone, in a dark room, watching TV, headbanging to yourself. The most fun I've had this year. I blame Covid.

Clearly the best Kiss song ever, and quite possibly one of the greatest rock songs ever,

For reference, this is the LedZep song. Which is also awesome.

I've had this one in rotation since it came out but never seen him work the crowd like that. It's a badass song.
Okay now I have to post this again.

Yes, that was clearly some weird Freddie Mercury type voodoo our friend Rob Halford managed to pull off there, but metal fans are VERY loyal and enthusiastic. I haven't played it for 30 years but I still love it.
And this.

An unusual song where the verse builds power, and the chorus is pretty lame, but I still adore it.

I'm made of Metal.
(Well, no, I'm clearly made of pink sqiushy stuff, it's clearlty a metaphor for who I am and where I'm from. Which is more metal than Metal.)

Sometimes, I just really love angry shouty Germans. Of the good kind. Not the other ones, we don't like them at all.

Flaws make people. It should be pretty obvious by now I'm full of flaws.
