Paddy's Day has come and gone. Being a proud Co Clare man, I've been listening to some of the old folk songs from that fair county.

This is from the absolutely legendary 'Late Late Show' a long running, long format chat show on Irish TV. The show running time was about three hours plus, and anything could happen and usually did. An truly organic televisual experience.

Shiny, shiny, shiny boots of leather
Whiplash girlchild in the dark
Comes in bells, your servant, don't forsake him
Strike, dear mistress, and cure his heart
Downy sins of streetlight fancies
Chase the costumes she shall wear
Ermine furs adorn the imperious
Severin, Severin awaits you there
I am tired, I am weary
I could sleep for a thousand years
A thousand dreams that would awake me
Different colors made of tears
Kiss the boot of shiny, shiny leather
Shiny leather in the dark
Tongue of thongs, the belt that does await you
Strike, dear mistress, and cure his heart
Severin, Severin, speak so slightly
Severin, down on your bended knee
Taste the whip, in love not given lightly
Taste the whip, now plead for me
I am tired, I am weary
I could sleep for a thousand years
A thousand dreams that would awake me
Different colors made of tears
Shiny, shiny, shiny boots of leather
Whiplash girlchild in the dark
Severin, your servant comes in bells, please don't forsake him
Strike, dear mistress, and cure his heart

Wow Shane sounds almost halfway sober in that performance! A rare thing indeed.

Revisiting older Autechre tracks:

A lot of Autechre's stuff is great to code to; keeps me focused and alert.
Also been discovering (

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47XlUL6sRow) GoGo Penguin lately. Both remind me of
Dawn of Midi, but less minimalistic and more jazzy.
I especially took notice of the The GoGo Penguin drummer; I think he could easily pull off some live breakcore drums if he had too, which is nice to hear from a jazz trio.
