Now I have to fork out for my own horse.
Join the Dark Brotherhood! No forkage necessary for
an immortal horse (he'll die, but be resurrected at the place where you first got him)
. You just have to work your way through the questline for a bit.

A weird thing about horses - My chestnut horse vanished after a while. I'll grant that it had 1/4 health, but one day as I was travelling out of Bruma to Cloud Ruler, when Cloud Ruler loaded I found my horse had gone. At any rate, I then stole one of the weynon priory horses, but then somehow managed to ride it off a cliff....

If you've waited 24 hours, then talked to the Argonian servant, follow her up to the count's room. He should come out and meet you, probably on the balcony if the timing is right.

Can someone tell me what ingredients I need to Cure Vampirism? I'm frantically trying to collect 5 Grand Soul gems before I turn into a Vampire and want to collect the ingredients at the same time.

The ones you can get before getting the cure quest: 6 Garlic and 5 Nightshade.

Awesome! Thanks! I was in no mood to have to search the lands at night for some ingredients.

Don't you need 2 bloodgrass too?

Forgot about those, mostly because it shouldn't be any kind of trouble getting that amount.

Even if you havent started the main quest, the Main Ingredient in the Imperial City sells them, as well as some garlic and your 5 nightshades.
