You don't have to unpack anything manually. I guess the demo crashed because you didn't read the instalation notes ;)

...or GL used your editor install to run the game. If so, run T3 with T3 launcher, exit and press Play to launch the game again.

I updated/corrected the tutorial and put it into the wiki. I also added a few lines about using the layer mask in your image to make more realistic reflections:
