So yeah, I'm a sucker for a good TV show title sequence. There are so few really good ones that really give you an idea of what the show is about, or what to expect- most of it's just showing the actors and their names, maybe tacking on the word "and" before the last guy's name, then a "produced by" and that's it. Meh.
So here's my challenge to TTLG- find the best TV intros you've ever seen.
X-Files is one of the more memorable ones for most people I would assume, but my strongest impression of Millennium back in the day was its (

The pilot for M*A*S*H...nothing can beat the building tension and chaotic order, as the mad scramble to get the incoming wounded triaged and into the O.R., that's portrayed in that initial opening sequence, all while the melancholic strings of 'Suicide Is Painless" drones on.
Perfection.

I loved the original Millennium opening titles. Can't think of anything else that's come close.

Sequence of Awesome: (

For some reason I truly hate the (

On the opposite end of the spectrum: Police Squad! (in color)

This is easily by far and away my favourite opening sequence. Yeah, visually boring but given the show concept (how they messed up this new re-imagining so bad I just don't know!) and your penchant for "dark" openings dethtoll this, this, is the one:
(

As for modern sequences; True Blood's is the only one I've sat through for ages. I usually fast-forward title sequences but it's interesting enough to watch every time.
well 30 Rock's too but come on

(

Oh Viv, that is the
best description of him I have ever heard.
I will have to think about awesome intros, but I will say that Eureka / A Town Called Eureka really needs a better one.
