I was over the moon when I heard Crowded house were playing the Hyde Park Calling festival as I never thought I'd get to see them after they split up (and their drummer comitted suicide :/) but see them I did but not for as long as what should have been!

After Neil Finn added some lyrics to 'Weather With You' laughing at Glastonbury for its rain, the band and crowd noticed the huge band of massive rainclouds heading for us. Neil cracked some jokes about telling the rain to "fuck off" (then apologised to families in the audience) and soon after the heavens opened. It was pretty torrential, making a lot of streams running through the site, though the Serpentine is nearby so hopefully it'll all magically go into there, not that that will matter if tomorrow's the same.
Crowded House carried bravely on instead of retreating to their dressing rooms, which was really great of them but eventually they had to abandon the stage as their equipment was getting soaked. Before leaving though, they played an awesome set of favourites and a couple new songs which sounded very nice! My personal favourite is Fall At Your Feet and it was a great rendition of it. The band were awesome, especially Neil. He was a great showman, all making jokes and really having fun with the crowd, making it a real pleasure to watch.
All in all, my expectations of Crowded House live were exceeded and that is very cool

If you were listening to crowded house you were already wet, hur hur....
kidding, of course. Woodface is one of the best things ever. How was the rest of the festival? I was gonna go but didn't.

Um, Crowded House, that was in the nineties right? I remember they had a song in Reality Bites and yeah, that weather song. People should make more songs about weather. I mean really look at it, look how many great songs are about weather. Walking on Sunshine is the only one I can think of right now. But I know there are many more. You can sing about the sun like Kathrina or whine about raindrops falling on your head. It really doesn't matter. Weather man! It's just something that appeals to everyone.

I would love to see those guys live, the slow rock style is great to listen to. They're a prime example of New Zealand greatness that was claimed as Australian

Viv, I didn't really watch anything else as CH were the only band I wanted to see. I was working at the festival (and Wireless, White Stripes!) so I just relaxed/went home when not working.

Ach, yeah. I worked at the homelands once, it was fucking balls (I did get to see orbital do doctor who, though). Don't suppose you're going to the field day, are you? I'm going to try and get my arse together and get some tickets, battles!

I'm doing nothing for a while to rest =) The next thing I have planned, workwise, is actually some stuff for the London stage of the tour de france which could be interesting, at least. After that I'm packing in doing local/site crew work, it's too much hard work for not enough pay/prospects. I don't quite know what I'll do now, I just did the Hyde Park gigs to get some money and delay a bit :)
