hello there, i am currently suffering from extreme :mad: rage :mad: so please forgive any random swearing that occurs in this post.
i recently decided i wanted to re-complete deus ex, so ive been playing it through again without any troubles, up to 1am this morning that is. for some reason that my puny brain cant comprehend, the game crashes whilst im walking to the the Dowd family tomb thingy in the cemetery level after you blow up the supertanker.
the excuse for the game crashing, according to the delightful (fucking die) Windows XP is because, and i quote:
"Critical Error!
General Protection Fault!
History: AActor::ProcessState <- Object ComputerPeronsal 09_NYC_Graveyard.ComputerPersonal0, Old State State Deus Ex Computers.Off, New State State Deus Ex.Computers.Off <- AActor::Tick <- TickAllActors <- ULevel::Tick <- (NetMode=0) <- TickLevel <- UGameEngine::Tick <- XGameEngineExt::Tick <- UpdateWorld <- MainLoop"
now if somebody can tell me:
a)what the hell that means
b)how the bloody hell i fix it (i have reinstalled the game today by the way)
c)how to stop it happening ever again
then i will be VERY VERY grateful

That's a Deus Ex error, not an operating system error.
No idea what's causing it.
