All the parents of young children in the world are relieved.

Bummer. Completely expected, but still a bummer. It was bound to happen this way. One of these days we'll be reading that Jackie Chan was killed filimg some stunt for his next movie. Live by the sword, die by the sword. Live by the killer animal or crazy stunt, die by the killer animal or crazy stunt.
I always liked his character. Like other great characters like William Shatner or Christopher Walken, there'll always be commedians impersonating them, but nobody's funnier than the genuine artical.

What will be the future of AUSTRALIA ZOO without Steve-O at the helm?
Will the CROCOSEUM continue to give live performances? Who would do them?
He leaves too many unanswered questions. :(

The guy knew the risks of what he was doing, kept it up in spite of them, and I say good for him for doing so. He could've lived twice as long in a nice, safe, "normal" life, and probably been miserable as hell the entire time. It's an honest shame he's dead - the world is lessened by his absence and all that - but I don't think he could've done things any differently anyway.

When I heard the news I knew there'd be a thread on CommChat waiting with the title "Crikey!" It's impossible to pass up.
RIP though, I had to sit through his movie once and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. He was a CHARMER, that man.

Awww maaaan!!:(
He was a nut. I'll miss the crazy bastid. I half expected him to die in every episode. How he lived this long was something of a miracle. My thoughts are with his family. He died doing what he loved, but that may not be a lot of consolation for them right now. But here's to a life lived to the hilt. *raises a glass
PS: I knew stingrays were dangerous, but not that dangerous!! Even with his death, he taught me something about animals. In a weord, sad, scary way, but nonetheless.:erg:

How strange. I've petted them at Ripleys aquarium of the Smokies. Felt like a raw liver. Now that I think about it maybe I wasn't supposed to reach over the glass wall like that. Surely they were the non stinging variety. Surely they idiot proof the inclosures. Hmmm there were hammerheads in there now that I think of it.
And strange that it got him so expertly. It makes one think they can discern a heartbeat. It also explains why most camera shots of them are from a side angle.
At any rate, speaking as an idiot, I don't think you can help being who you are even with a family. You can try to moderate it but it slips through. Some people have to have a shot of adrenaline in thier tea. A shame though. You kind of hope the daredevils will live forever.
