I had read that the Creeper always pays 100% for the value of the items sold... so I started using him (once I found him).
Problem is that I used him recently to sell some Redoran Guard's armor (Taunted him to death :D ) but the Creeper wasn't paying 100% anymore? Is there a reason for this?
BTW, don't know if this matters, but I've got the XBox version of Morrowind (my computer isn't 1337 enough to play Morrowind! :D )

I've never experienced Creeper not paying 100% for anything. I know you can't sell him potion ingredients, but stuff like armour should be fine...
Hmm, no ideas to help I'm afraid.
(I also am on X-Box due to PC suck-ness)

The armour was probably damaged, he only pays a proportion of the value based on the condition of armour or weapons.

That makes sense then, guess I'll have to make a pit stop by my house or something and fix up the armor first (great way to boost your Amorer stat).
I even know where to get a ton of hammers, now all I have to do is stockpile some good "fortify strength" poitions and make sure to keep a mark in Balmora (quick trip down the block from my house to the Mages guild and over to the Creeper).
Thanks for the info, I'm sure that's what it was since I had to beat the crap out of the Rederon guard to get the armor! (come to think of it, that's a great way to boost speachcraft!)

Afaik, Creeper has a max buying power of 5,000, so if you have something worth more, he'll only pay up 5k. I think there was even a mod released to remedy this particular problem ( = no one who barters has enough money to buy your uber stuff!!), but don't quote me on it. Overall, Morrowind is a very nifty game, but it does have some downsides, and this, unfortunately, is one of them :nono:.
I just re-installed it, as I'm bored, and hoping to build up a character high enough to make it in the Bloodmoon mod ;)
deadman.

deadman. you can sell your really expensive stuff to peopl elike the creeper, what you have to do, is sell him some cheaper stuff first, up to the value of 5000, then come back 24 hours later(or use the wait command) and he'll have regenerated another 5000, keep selling him stuff like this, then when it comes to selling your uber-expensive stuff(such as that ebony stuf) sell it to the creeper for 20000 or whatever, then buy back a whole load of your old stuff to lower the price, when the price is just lower than 5000, you can sell the expensive item, then wait again, and sell the less expensive stuff back to him, this may take a while, and be extremely tedious, but selling of ebony wepons and armour is a great way to nuild up a huge supply of money
you can also use the floor of the creepers room to store all those expensive and heavy items while you're running around the world if you cant be bothered to use the wait command so much

It would make more sense to go find the talking mud crab. He buys armor and weapons and gets 10,000 gold a day. So you can sell more to him. It is North of the shipwreck of the Prelude. I would only sell home-made potions to the creeper. But, that is just me.

There's also the craftsman in Mournhold who keeps 8000 gold on hand. He doesn't always pay top dollar like Mudcrab or Creeper, so you have to bargain with him. I like using him because it feels more in line with a "realistic" role-playing experience than bargaining with a frickin' animal!
