Yes, but how did you import the matlib into the T3Editor? You have to use File > Import Matlib from the Material browser in the editor ...
Just checking the obvious, that's all ...

I've tried to way:
1-) first importing a custom plaintex dir (i.e. Goi, or custom/custom_textures [folders in both Textures and PCTextures]), where I've had placed in the .dds textures, and after loading the matlib file with File > Import Matlib ... nothing to do;
2-) putting the .dds directly in Textures and PCTextures and loading the MatLib with File > Import Matlib, still nothing to do :sweat:

What happens when you try and import one of the matlibs that ship with the editor, ie T3_STM.mlb - do they work ok?

Yes! but .... mmm. wait... now, I try to convert it in .mat, reconverting in .mlb, and after loading it:
NO!!! :eek: It doesn't load rightly!!

Does your .mat file work in 3ds?

so,
a) Original matlibs load into editor with no problem
b) But when you convert them into max libraries and then export them again they don't work
??
That's really weird. It points to the matexport step not working properly, but I've never had that problem ... :(
How big are the matlibs exported from max - are they 0 bytes for example? The only thing I can suggest is check the max setup - it's flaky to say the least, the plugins and scripts have dependencies that mean they have to be loaded in a certain order - although we don't know for sure what the order is.
Try removing all the plugins and scripts and paths and so on from max and redo the whole process.
Other than that, don't sweat it, you can still get your materials into the game using the custom textures matlib that I created - and that is the most important thing, right?

I wanted to post a screenie showing what order I have the plugins, but it seems my copy of Max is busted. :p

I was gonna do the same thing, but I just had to do a complete reinstall and I can't get the actorx plugin to work, so my setup isn't completely right either :D
