For a while I was just resizing the thumbnails and blurring them, and thought it turned out ok.

Then I just started using print screen on the fully sized image in the browser and pasting it directly into Photoshop, then cropping it. It even saved a step in saving the file and reloading it through Photoshop.
So I recommend that. It's better than digging through the flikr site looking for the source.

Print screen? Pff, noob ;)

Right click, "copy image". It's like a mini printscreen, no cropping required.
