Anyone know what is the deal with this? You get it off the guys who likes in a little raised shack by the lake/pond next to the freedom base. I currently have not finished the game (will be going to Pripyat next) so if its for something to come up don't tell me! I highly doubt it is though.

I guess I can tell you then, because you should have come across it already. There is a mission to retrieve it. You get it from Max in the Freedom base (he's the 'leader' of that group of Freedomers that are sitting around the fire), but only after you accomplish two missions for Lukash/Freedom: Destroy the Duty company, and deal with the snitch. Of course that being able to get that optional mission depends on the choices you make through the game. In my case it's difficult, because I always try to be friends with both Duty and Freedom, which means that I never pick a side in the battle that ends up taking place between them in the Army Warehouse. And Max almost always manages to get himself killed in that battle.

If its those Duty guys sitting around the barn who want you to kill a Sniper or whatever that was, theyre rogue, nobody at Duty will care, the Duty General guy even says it.
But is there a difference if Max dies or not? Because i always used the box where he stands for stashing and hearing "Come over here. Lets have a little chat!" 60 times per minute ad nauseum made me consider showing a little less commitment next time id do that mission. :eww:

Yes, those are the Duty guys I'm talking about. And if they're rogue, then those are good news then. This means that this time I'll take care of them.
The only difference if Max dies or not is being able to do that crazy stalker's flash drive mission if he lives. Although the reward you get from it isn't anything special (plus, he lies: he says that the reward will be one thing, and then it turns out that what you actually get is something else).
