So I just bought a new computer and I'm trying to get Morrowind to work on it. I _thought_ that it would run much nicer because it is a better computer, but alas, I' having troubles. I load the game just fine, and it loads indoors fine, but whenever it goes to load an exterior, the game freezes, crashes, and the computer reboots on me.
I've got a Radeon 9600 Pro, Windows XP, and plenty of computing power. I'm pretty sure I've got recent drivers for everything, too. Anyone here have any insight as to what might be the problem?

Have you tried dialing down the graphical settings yet? Turn off bumpmapping, reduce the draw distance, etc?
Also, if the game fully patched? Raedon cards had some issues that were fixed with patches 1 and 2, IIRC.

Isn't that ironic? And I've got a pos nVidia TNT2 M64 graphics card with 32MB of SDRAM and no crashes or anything. See? My friend was right when he said they coded the thing like a muthah... :p
Sadly, an older friend has a custom built PC with pretty good specs and video card but it runs stuff slower than my store bought HP Pavilion crap. Now that's funny.
Of course, on the other hand I have 512 MB of ram and I'm going to have to upgrade soon.. :nono:

It works. I think it was the latest patch that I installed that fixed the problem... but I could've sworn I already had it.. Oh well. It works!
