I hope anyone has a clue of what could be the problem of this:
While I go into close combat with Higher level monsters it crashes most of the time.
What could be the problem of this.
After I updated the game, videodrivers and sounddrivers, I still have the problem.

If you have alot of mods running, that might be a problem... I know my game crashes alot while I have my mods running(I can't go 20minutes without it crashing to the desktop for one reason or another...). I turned off all my mods and played through the game smoothly though, but its alot less fun without the plugins...

I don't have any mod in my game (yet), so that is not the problem.
I think it's a glitch between the game and my videocard or something, because when I start Morrowind it always give a failure/or stripes running over my screen. When I quit MW at that time and load it again i have no problems anymore:confused: .
This all makes me confused. I have updated every driver in my computer.

Hrm... does that include updating your motherboard's BIOS, not to mention your VIA drivers (if your mobo has such)

I have a new computer that is about 3 weeks old now and I bought the newest stuff availeble at that time. So all drivers are up to date.
When I was updating I even found out I have newer versions of drivers then on the websites.
It could be that there are still some small bugs in the hardware.
The stuff I have in my computer that could give problems:
ATI Radeon 9700
A-Open AK77-333 Motherboard with Athlon xp 2000+ chip
512MB PCI2700 DDR RAM
Dunno what other hardware might cause problems with the game.

Hrm.. well, I'd still check out w/ the motherboard's manufacturer to see if there's a newer one; they often apply BIOS patches only if there's something critically wrong from the assembling company's perspective. In other words, it may be out of date for your card's requirements.

ok I found out exactly when the game crashes.
When a monster (mosly kabouti) attacks me in close combat and I walk backwards while I strike at the monster it crashes.
So I simply solved the problem by keep standing still while attacked :thumb:
