Crash + OpenGL. Help! - by Wang

When I play Deus Ex, with the DirectX setting, I often come across this problem where I get a black screen and I'm unable to do anything. Sometimes pressing CTRL + ALT + DEL works, but you have to wait a very long time, so it is better to manually restart the computer.
The second "problem" is when I try to play the game with OpenGL. I've read some older topics about the problem, but I never understood how to fix it. The problem is that when I use OpenGL in Deus Ex all characters get these pink glasses, and all turrets and pistols have these "ghost-flames".
Now, I can play the game normally, without these artifacts, on medium graphic setting.
So the question is: Does anybody know the solution for the crash-problem? And does anybody know how to play DX with OpenGL on the highest graphics setting without the artifacts?
My computer spec are:
Intel Pentium 4 - 1,4 Ghz
Nvindia Geforce FX 5200
256 MB RAM-BUS
80 GB space
Windows XP + service pack 2 installed
Direct X 9.0b installed, Deus Ex is fully patched (1.112fm), my graphic card is fully patched.

There's a better OGL renderer at (
http://cwdohnal.home.mindspring.com/utglr/) which might solve the ghost texture problem. For DirectX, I'd recommend the usual - upgrade
or downgrade your drivers. Sometimes older drivers are more compatible with older games, but sometimes newer drivers have bugfixes. It's a case of trial and error.

No, I'm sorry, the OpenGL .dll-files did not work. Any other suggestions :) ?

disable texture precaching by setting
"DoPrecache" to 0 in OpenGlDrv.ini file

I'm beginning to wonder if I am cursed or something. I downloaded the new Direct X patch 9.0c and installed it, and everything was fine. Then, after four hours of gamepley, I said to myself: "Seems like the crashing actually stopped". The minute after that, it came again.... :(
I don't know, maybe it will come less often... at least that is acceptable... sort of..
Anyways, I'll try the Open GL thing later.
