I just beat DX:IW (liked it, didn't *love*it) and now I want to replay it - but I've gotten fed up with a supremely annoying issue it has. It crashes, seemingly at random, during level loads, right before the "level preview" image appears. The screen just stays black, the CD spins up, and nothing happens. I can't alt-tab or windows-d out of it, need to reboot it the hard way. Blech. Now, it's not a consistant problem, and the game is playable - but only with many, many reboots. Any ideas? I'm running a 3.2 GHz with a Radeon 9800, by the way, and it runs gorgeously when it works. Everything maxed, as long as keep multi-pass at 1 and VSync off, even at 1280x1024. Huzzah!

You could try a virtual drive (Clone cd Virtual Drive)or ....well you figure it out.
