Are you sure you don't need vesafix?
It's a TSR (terminate and stay resident) program, so running it once loads it into memory, and it stays there until you reboot.
Running it again ought to do nothing, as it's already loaded (I assume it behaves nicely and ignores attempts to load itself it it's already resident!). You have to explicitly ask itself to remove itself from memory if you want to unload it. (There's a command-line option you can give it to do this.)
So, try running it again if you haven't done so. If it works again, then add the command into the tn.bat file (or alternatively do as Daxim says and use loadhigh -- Daxim, is that a direct DOS command, or would it go into config.sys or some such? I'm not at a DOS box at the moment so I can't check!)

That "cannot find movies" error sounds weird, btw. I assume you don't have a CD?? I know there are ripped versions floating around, but I've no idea how they operate.

Okay....triple NM. I used the command prompt for vesa fix and then loaded up windows to run TN. But I still only get music,no sound. What sux is that I have to load up vesa fix every time I boot up(to play TN). I geuss Ill get used to it. Sound checks out fine in setup but its not working in the game, only music. Would the fact that My music card selection is different from my sound card selection be a problem?

It's a direct DOS command, interpreted through command.com. It can be abbreviated as lh and also be called from autoexec.bat.
related command: loadfix

So what do I do to fix this?

Um, why?
As I said a couple of time already, you can edit tn.bat and add vesafix to the top. I'm sure that's all you'd need to do. If you want it to run permanently (which might be a good idea as it's a bug-fix thing) add it to autoexec.bat as has been said already, and then it will be loaded automatically.
You don't need to go through some kind of boot to DOS, run vesafix, load windows routine.

What I really need to fix now is my sound shadowcat.

Check if the .cfg file is marked read-only. It must not be.

So, did Daxim's suggestion work??
(If you're not sure, right-click on the file and choose 'Properties', and look to see if the 'Read Only' option under the 'General' tab is selected or not. If it is, you should uncheck the box and click on okay to make it writable.)
Something that occurred to me is that some of the options that you access in-game via the 'O' key are only saved if you save a game, and they won't be automatically restored when you start Terra Nova until you load the saved mission.
If you've never seen this screen, be sure to press 'O' after starting the game and look at the sound settings there.
The other thing I wondered was whether you were possibly installing the game in pure DOS? As you're running it from Windows, that might account for the sound working in the installer, but not in the game.
I think I might be able to sort that one out for you if that's the case, so let me know.

I just tried it as you and others have stated, Shadowcat. It works just as I remember. :)

That 4294777295 error code is probably just something that gets thrown out there when the program doesn't know what's going wrong. I played with the .exe (actually, I think you mean the .bat file) settings and that message was always happening. That tells me that memory isn't the real issue. Whatever the cause, just do what has been stated about adding vesafix -6 to the command line of the tn.bat file. This clearly is the answer or at least a work around for the problem. Hope it does some good. :)

*edit*
I did read that the sound is not working right for you, but I don't have this problem so I can't say anything not already above.
