Crash after intro movie is played

I have Thief 1 and 2 in the SoldOut bundle, the one with 1 CD where Thief 1 is on one side and Thief 2 on the other. I can install the game just fine but when I try to run either one of them I run into trouble.

The intro cinematic plays just fine. After that the menu screen shows up for a second, the music starts going bananas and then the game crashes. I have searched around the Internet for the problem and I've found other people with the same issue, sadly no solution. What I've found suggests that there might be some problem if you're running SP1, but I'm running SP3 :-/

Hmm... There may be a lot of reasons:
1) AMD Cool'n'Quiet Technology. You can toggle it on and off in your PC's BIOS Setup.
2) "Data Execution Prevention (DEP)" Technology. You can toggle it on and off in your PC's BIOS Setup as well (AMD names it "NX"), or in your (http://www.online-tech-tips.com/windows-xp/disable-turn-off-dep-windows/) Windows.
3) Perhaps, an obsolete and/or incompatible video/audio drivers with your Windows XP SP3. For example, your graphics driver ForceWare v175.16 has been released before Windows XP SP3, but right now (http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/winxp_195.62_whql_uk.html) v195.62 is available. Also please don't forget about audio driver too.
4) What about some (http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1947874#post1947874) cleanup :)?
