I've just turned the
brain scorcher
off, and as suggested, following the group after I get out of there. Am I by the end of the game? I've heard the game was fairly long, but doesn't seem like I've been playing it all that long. It seems like the
Wish Granter
quest would be one of the last ones even though I'm not doing it right now, seems like it may be next.
Thanks
BTW; What is this freeplay thing I've heard about in the next patch ? Will this have new quests, or is it just wandering around? Do you need to start a new char?

I'm heading for the wish granter myself, and yes it is one of the endings.
Freeplay is just the ability to run around the game world after beating the game, so it is pretty much infinite gameplay without any real objectives. Just running around, looting bodies, etc.

Ah... Thanks.
Can't you do that anyway though? Just wander around and do stuff after you finish the game without having this "freeplay" mode?
Trappin on 11/8/2007 at 02:46
There's still a decent amount of content left. It really does depend on each persons play style. Do you blitz to objectives or kill everything that moves? The area beyond the underground parking garage can be loads of fun - so remember to bring tons of ammo, fresh pack of smokes and a new bulletproof vest :eww:
The game locks the zone/gate back to Prypiat once you enter the NPP
Not that simple :)
When you start a free play mode, you start the game in usual place - at Sidorovich.
New type of quests, new quests, no plot quests, reputation system working properly, smart terrain restrictions removed, maybe something else I forgot.

Why does that happen anyway? Just gameplay reasons?

Wow, I managed to misunderstand both michaelg's question and Trappin's answer :p
Bjossi on 11/8/2007 at 17:36
Well, Trappin's answer is hard to understand if you don't click the blue box. :p

I know how to deal with spoilers. Still, I wrote a totally unrelated comment to Trappin's answer :)
