Could "T2X: Shadows of the Metal Age" be better than TG and T2?

My opinion, for what it is worth... T2, TG, T2X in that order. I do not have T1, only TG, so I cannot comment on that. Never bought T3 and probably never will.

T2X is a great FM series. Yes, it has flaws, but I think they are lesser than T2’s flaws. The voice acting is meh in some respects, but I can easily ignore it. Even so, the overall story and gameplay of T2 wins out with me, but it is a close race.

T2X is the first FM I played back around 2005. I was very impressed by the quality of the FM. I got my T2 disks as a bonus with a sound card in 2000 and did not break open the pack until around 2004 or so. I can’t remember the exact date. Nevertheless, I was happy to find FMs were available. It was the T2 Wikipedia post that directed me to T2X. Later I found out there were others. Here it is over 10 years later and I am still playing.

Is T2 better than T2X? Yes, for me. That just my opinion. I have a feeling that if I had played T2X first, it would be on top. This is also why I rank TG lower than T2. I did not play TG until last year. It’s sort of a let down, since I have to patch the hell out of it to get it to run on a new box that it loses the old look of the original. To me, TG is similar to T2 with different guards, more monsters, and a lack of a telescopic eye. Still pretty cool though. It is so familiar though that it just does not have the new car smell that would put it over the top. I’m sure that if I played T1/TG first, it would probably be at the top. I will not go into the relative merits of FMs other than T2X, other than to say I find many FMs to blow away all original content.

Yes, but Brethren, we werent talking about "anyone who has been around for a long time", we were talking specifically about luthien, so... what you are saying is just a thinly veiled excuse to say something stupid about me. lol, wouldnt expect anything less from ya, though...
