It's deifnitely a scripts issue as I've played it through on 1.21 and just tested this early part of putting the mask on in 1.22 and it worked fine.

currently running ND 1.23. For some reason, my knockout bag isnt being applied to my weapon, only uses up a charge of the bag and that's it.

8/26 eve,
Hi folks,
I've been playing COSAS Mission X for a few hours now, and seem stuck at 29 minutes into the game (the x-tra time being spent restarting old saves)...and have 2 very specific questions....and if I need to restart from the beginning I will, but I'd rather not if its unnecessary.
1. Main question...in the elevator shaft...and after < 1/2 minutes I keep having the elevator do that thing where it closes off permanently, and you get the Failure message screen.
I've seen a youtube video, but still can't figure this part out. :-(
I KNOW you have to press the buttons on the machine to shut the cameras off...and I think the code is '0451'...but regardless, and I've done this a dozen times, I cannot press any buttons...they all seem/look completely UN-pressable.
On a youtube they say to spray a dust buster on the console...but I don't see a dustbuster in my inventory...on the YouTube it Looks like the mask is chosen...is that right...is the mask itself the dustbuster?
Also, I cannot tell if you are pressing on the console with the buttons on the floor, or on the ceiling 2 buttons up top...and if on the floor, why are you (in the YouTube at least) pressing those buttons on the ceiling?
2. so far, even though I have the mask, even though I've talked to your invisible (at this point in the game at least) 'partner' many, many times, when I go to objectives it shows NO evidence ANY objective has been met-everything is Unchecked...including getting the mask which I got in the 1st minutes of the game
Little help?
thanks
eric

@ eric: Sorry, I don't have the answers to your questions, but I moved your post to the Mission X thread. We prefer you post in existing mission threads whenever possible instead of starting new threads for existing missions. I'm sure someone will be along shortly who can help you.

Just to inform others, i've recompilated the mission in 32 bits lighting with NewDark 1.23 and got no problems at all, i was able to finish it, and it's still a beautiful and wonderful FM.
I've also made a french minimalist translation (image texts are not translated) for french players :

Replaying this wonderful mission. Anyone ever experienced the head accountant's key not being frobbable? No matter what I try, I can't take it. Too bad, as this means I can't loot the money exchange.
Edit: Hmm...tried it today and now it worked for some reason. Seems like the dark engine just needed to sleep on it.

Man, what an amazing mission! Just fired it up for old times sake, and was not disappointed. Played for about 1.5 hours, and beat it on expert (i.e. The lowest setting), with barely over half the loot. So much more [re]exploring left to do :)

Try getting all the loot and the best possible ending. I still remember the whole summer spent testing that monstrosity. It was like herding cats for a while. I still don't know how Digi and company pulled it off.
check out this thread for lots of info..........

Haha, I did it! I 'cheated' a little. Well, not really. Just exploited some incomplete scripting:
After I picked up my gear, I cleared out most of the building before telling my team I'd picked up my gear. This made it trivial (errr.... relatively speaking...) to accomplish my tasks after I checked in with my team.
