2. "Slay the Dragon?"
3. It's a research project, I guess. Supposedly Corprus has all kinds of interesting and magical properties which might be of interest to someone like him. And someone needs to take care of them. I guess the main thing is they interest him, and when you're alive for a thousand years it's easy to get bored, otherwise.
