Corpus Abuse... - by Red

While looking around a nice Morrowind guide site i came across this rather devious tactic -
Quote:
Okay, later in the game you WILL acquire Corpus Disease. When this happens,
you will periodically lose Intelligence, Willpower, and Personality while
gaining Strength and Endurance. I don't know what happens when your
attributes hit 0, maybe you go crazy or something, but your Strength and
Endurance WILL go up. How to abuse this? Simple.
Make an item or spell or potion something to cure your ailing attributes.
So gain them back while letting your strenght and endurance go through
the roof. I have no idea up to what level you can get your strength and
endurance up to, but I'm thinking you can go at least up to 255. I do
not know for sure. But that is MORE than enough!
Do this BEFORE you take the potion that cures you of Corprus (you will
get it eventually if you follow the main quest). When you take the potion,
your disabilities will disappear, but your ill-gotten strength and
endurance will not!!! Now go punch someone out with one hit. :P
Surely this isn't possible...is it?
What does happen if your attributes hit 0?
Does anything cosmetic happen to your character when you have corpus or do you just look the same as with any other disease?
Oh and should you fancy having a look for your self the site is -

When your Intelligence hits 0 so does your magicka, when your Willpower hits 0 so does your chance to resist spells (if at 0 Magicka Resistance) and 0 Personality isn't excactly good for your public relations (and since you're inflicted with corprus people will like you even less). Those bad effects are in addition to the decrease in you chance of succeding with skills that depend on those attributes ie. magical skills, Security, Merchantile and Speechcraft. Iirc there is no special look, but I've never actually bothered to check up on that so I might be wrong.

And here I thought this would be about making a custom spell that has the effect "cause corprus"... which does exist as something players can obtain, btw ;)

Forsythe: Something to do with the ash mask? You got me intreagued now... I wanna pick up where Dagoth Ur left off :ebil:

Are you sure? Without a plugin? Because the only thing that has the spell 'corprus', whether weapon, ring, NPC teacher, whatever, is the pilgrim in the early Temple question
Or have I missed something?

Hrm.. I remember getting a spell after raiding a Red Mountain citadel for a Temple quest and having this funky spell after getting out of there; it (in effect) did a damage fatigue on other while doing a 'cause corprus' on self. Given the level of interest, unless someone beats me to it, I'll look it up when I get home.
Edit: Hmm.. decidedly odd; the spell's name is "ash curse: fatigue" and is more-or-less as I described above. While my char has it, I'm utterly boggled as to how I got it.

Perhaps you read a book during your time in red mountain?
The only reason i mention it is supposedly (according to a guide i got from a web site) you learn the summon steam centurion spell after reading a dwemer book during the house telvanni quests - perhaps the same thing applies in this case?

Red: Yeah, that is correct, except you don't have to be Telvanni.. the book is just out there. Read it, and you get the spell. It's called aomething like "Secrets of Dwemer Accsomething".
C'mon.. someone has to know about the cause corpus spell.

Hmm.. I went thru all of the scripts (excepting the 'disease' scripts applied to critters) and looked for 'addspell' in each one, with no luck. That, btw, is how the "Anumunculi Secrets" (sp?) book does it. I'll look some more tonight, but I don't know how likely I'll be to find it. Assuming it's not a bug (because both my 1st and 2nd chars had the spell), it's certainly applied in an odd way.
Edit: Oh yes, btw, the spell effect 'Corprus', like 'Mark', 'Recall', etc., can only be used on 'Self' :p
