I've got a strange problem. Few days ago I tried copying some meshes, brushes etc. from original maps to my map. And it worked OK.
But now it does not work OK. Well, I can paste meshes etc., but they disappear completety if I only rebuild my level. The only thing that is left of them is small red crosss that also disappears once it is de-selected. :(
Does anyone has any idea what makes them disappear? Thanks in advance for any help!

This happened to me too, but when I tried to copy a window light from the seaside mansion level. It was there fine at first, but dissapeared after a rebuild, so I just had to make my own. What I thought could have happened was that there was a conflict in the naming of that copied object with something in my map already, but I haven't done any testing on that.

The materials could have got munged I suppose. You can, of course, export brushes, and just note down the mesh names for your own map.

Unfortunately, I wanted to copy some emitters that can not be found in the browser. If I am not able to copy those, the only solution would be writing down EACH propriety of original emitters. It will take ages... ;)

You must suffer for your art...
Put it this way, if you note all the properties you'll probably learn something about each of them.

I had the same problem with the disappearing meshes copied from the original levels. But when I actually play the game, they're there in the world! This could be an even bigger problem if you later want to move or deleat them. Be warned!

Particle emitters only look scary. Once you get your teeth into them, they're crazy fun. I can spend days mucking about with them.
Erm... in other words, learn how to make them from scratch. It's fun, and it won't crash things as often

That's why you never release any playable work, isn't it? If it's not terrain it's emitters. Honestly...
