They had a thread with optical illusions on SA recently - this one is fantastic. You really only need a few seconds for it to work, but the effect is a little better if you look longer before mousing over it.

If you'd print both versions on transparent plastic foil and put one over another, you would get a color picture also. Because your eye is motionless, the specific color scale picture "imprints" itself into your eye retina, then you move your mouse and the grayscale version fits exactly into the imprinted "frame" on your retina. Kinda like that.
