Warning: DOES contain spoilers
I have heard lots of discussion about witch ending was picked, and I thought, "Did they really haveto pick an ending? I think they might have made their own."
If JC merged with the AI, then JC wouldn't be killing anybody, right? I take that he still kills people by the qoute from DX2 were Paul says "JC, you dumbass! Those are humans too!" Next, If JC blew the whole place up, Alex Denton would be killed. And lastly, if JC went with the Invisible Hand, the world wouldn't haveto re-shape the government and wouldn't have a period of recovery, as mentioned in this gamespy review
Quote:
In the chaotic period of recovery, several religious and political factions see an opportunity to re-shape a worldwide government to thier agendas. Understanding that the right moves now could determine the shape of human society for decades - even centuries - to come.
So, I have come to the conclusion that JC trusted Bob Page when he offered him stuff but JC got kicked into the streets and the AI merged with Bob page and became evile. Then, the world turned chaotic and JC killed Bob Page. Area 51 was forgotten (but not destroyed) and Alex Denton awoke. Oh, and there is one thing I don't undertand. If Alex is able to be a girl, why doesn't Alex have boobs when you see her in area 51? I mean, she is an adult and all, right? Or is she REALLY flat :ebil: ? Or, does she grow them those 20 years she stays locked up in that chamber?

What gives you the impression that alex is a girl?

Wuggles: He's referring to the fact that Alex, the player's character, can be either male or female.
I'm not aware of any line like "Those are people too" being mentioned as being from DX2, and I've been following it pretty closely. Do you have a link?
Since all Ion Storm will say is that they're doing "Something weird" with the whole ending thing, it's a sure bet that they didn't just choose one ending. Perhaps they merged elements from all three endings, perhaps they ignored the ending choices in DX1 completely and took the story in a different direction, or maybe the issue is just never brought up in DX2, and you're left to wonder.

I read a while back that JC doesn't feature primarily:
Quote:
This is what Ion Storm would reveal about the plot. Fifteen years have passed since the events of Deus Ex. JC Denton is missing and UNATCO has reared four new genetically enhanced agents to look for him. In fact, they are him - cloned from his DNA, and given JC's augmentation capabilities. At least one of these new agents is a woman...

"...rather than choosing one of the original game's three endings to continue from, the start position appears to merge elements for all three in some manner."
