Umm...you realize what the defining factor of the Great Depression was don't you? You do realize the implication of making a promise regarding that factor (ie unemployment) and then acting like it didn't happen in front of America, right? you are so full of it...thank God the rest of America isn't so hypnotized. Like Obama said...We Won! Also like him, I don't care what argument you pull out of our ass, it is meaningless because ya'll are f'ed :p.
I finally figured out a way to explain this while remaining on the level that Thief13x can understand:
Children's Stories
Think of the Three Little Pigs. Pretend that the the way the economy was working was the straw house of the first little pig. The financial crisis is the big bad wolf.
Thief13x gets his trailer park destroyed by a tornadoThe little straw hut gets blown down by the big bad wolf and everybody panics. But then there's the third pig, the federal government (See, I know you like that right there, because you're a simpleton and I called the federal government a "pig." Ha Ha)
The third pig puts up a big brick house called the stimulus package, and stops the big bad wolf before it destroys everything.
And dumb little fucktard Thief13x over here, is still bitching that the big brick house didn't "work" because his shitty little welfare home is still blown down. Not even realizing that had it not been for the brick house of the stimulus package, he'd be strewn about on the side of the road: probably blowing someone for crystal meth and a place to crash on the couch.
Anyway, it's really kinda cute watching Thief13x "debate." It's like I keep punching the shit out of him, but he won't (

Just of curiosity, can you show me some links (preferably from an independant party, not anyone associated with a political party or a federal agency), showing that the stimulus works and isn't just re-inflating the bubble? I'm curious to read the specifics of the argument.

sounds disturbingly familiar to logic I've heard before...

(again, with this common knowledge shit... just for that special someone in the room with us today :p)
Thank God we invaded Iraq and waterboarded all those 'terrorsts'! eh RBJ?

Just out of curiousity, what do you think that this quote by Dick Cheney says about him?

And no, I'm not going to "show you some links." because it would be pointless. I give neither of you any credit for being able to parse things without immediately getting your hackles up, and throwing poop again.
Nor do I think either of you have remotely the sophistication to understand what's going on, it'd be like giving a physics text book to a kindergartener. Hell, you don't even understand the implications of the things that YOU'RE linking to, and you expect me to provide you with complicated financial analysis? Christ, I know better than that.
But, I WILL give you a little nugget that you can research yourself: The TED Spread. It's a great indicator and once you understand what it actually means, you can see just how bad conditions had gotten last fall, and how much the credit markets have recovered.
That doesn't mean I'm going to entertain either of your undeveloped, simplistic ideas on this matter further. You're done here.
Thief13x on 30/8/2009 at 21:19
YADA YADA YADA we uncovered plots to blow up the White House and the Capitol because we invaded Iraq YADA YADA
Would they have been tradgic? hell yes! would they have happened if we HADN'T invaded Iraq? It's about as debatable as arguing the effectiveness of the stimulus not even 10% into its disbursement . My sole argument is that unemployment cracked 8%. What the fuck is yours???

A: I just want to read it. Most of the arguments in favor of it are hyperemotional "we had to do it or the world would have ended" fearmongering. I was hoping you could provide something better.
B: so now stop accusing people of posting shit without any backing

Reality provides the backing when RBJ posts.
