Kinda ironic that there's currently a fairly big debate in the UK about whether people should have a legal right to assisted suicide, with the major argument against being "people could feel pressured into it", while the US is already happily accusing the UK of killing cripples and crumblies left right and centre.
People are awesome stupid.

So Hawking didn't say this: " 'I wouldn't be here today if it were not for the NHS," Hawking told The Guardian. "I have received a large amount of high-quality treatment without which I would not have survived.' "?
No he said "wtf you tards the NHS has been very good to me" can't you read I summarized it and everything.

People such as scientist Stephen Hawking wouldn't have a chance in the U.K., where the National Health Service would say the life of this brilliant man, because of his physical handicaps, is essentially worthless.
So who is saying this if Hawking is receiving national healthcare? I'm confused.

Did you look at ANY of the links I posted? All the information is there I promise.

I thought you were saying, initially, that Britain's Healthcare would allow someone like Hawking to die because he's so fucked up. :o Sorry about that, but I didn't see any previous context to your statement, which was why I was so confused--no one in their right mind would make such a hypothetical statement that simply isn't happening.

To be fair, she DID put "this is also an actual quote" at the top, in bold...;)

I see that...now. :tsktsk:
Once again, sorry for the confusion, Starrfall--you've never seemed to be a lunatic before. :cheeky:

Ahha. Yeah I was copying Tonamel.
And you WOULD think that no one in their right mind would make a hypothetical that goes against actual reality but that's pretty the only kind of argument the right is offering these days.
WHAT IF OBAMA KILLS YOUR GRANDMOTHER UNDER HIS HEALTH CARE PLAN

...it's because rhetoric like that works. The general populace is so simply minded, they'll believe damn near anything that is spoon-fed to them if it sounds "ominous" enough.
SHE'S ALREADY DEAD.
See, it did kill her.

WHAT IF OBAMA KILLS YOUR GRANDMOTHER UNDER HIS HEALTH CARE PLAN
What if Obama was accused of killing his grandmother before any health care plans were planned.

I first read about this subject a few weeks back in my local town newspaper. Just when I thought people couldn't be any more...
