Why Constant Effect? Wouldn't that just keep summoning them?

bentheripper : From what other people have said, guards should attack you but you can just unequip the item and the summon dissapear. I haven't made a constant summon item myself.
hokaloogie : When you summon a creature you are affected by summon <creature> for the duration of the effect, constant items cast their effect once equipped and then it will continue to function as a normal effect just without a time limit (until the item is removed ofc).

I have a constant effect summon dremora and have used it in town. The people/guards just look at him and make nasty comments to the poor guy. It's baffling how this game reacts in different situations. It may be that my ' like me level ' is so high that everyone lets me get away with murder. :)
I have read in the manual, however, that it is suppose to work the way you describe it. If you take the constant enchantment item off, when your in town, the Atronarch effect is removed from your guy. Just put the item on when you want help in a battle. Or at least only when you want to screw with people. :cheeky:

Guards don't attack creatures that don't attack you or them... like the pack guar... You can summon creatures right in front of them and they won't do a thing. Creatures like cliff racers or centurions could roam towns without being attacked as long as they don't attack you, but as soon as you get hit, their aggressiveness to the creature gets to 100. Of course, guards wont attack any npc's like vampires, or any that just agro on you.
Another thing about guards(I was really bored when I did this). I decided to test the strength of the different types of guards versus creatures... so I did this. First I tested imperial guard strength. I went into fort moonmoth and spawned some golden saints. They attacked me and the guards sprung into action, they were about an even match with a saint... as long as it was 3 guards against 1 saint... 2 saints would kill the guards off. So I spawned another 3 guards after I finished off the golden saints and this time spawned 1 ogrim. The ogrim slaughtered the 3 guards. Hmmm, interesting. The guards could kill daedra lords easily, and wingedtwilights were about the same as the golden saints. After going through the different cities and doing this, Ive determined which guards are the strongest, and which ones are about as hard as a telvanni sewer rat.
Strongest to weakest:
Ordinators
Redoran guards
Telvanni guards
Imperial guards
Hlaalu guards
I guess I went a little off topic there, lol.

Different creature types are more vulerable to certain magical effects. For example; Lizard People are totally immune to poison. Frost Ant. are more vulerable to fire than any other creature, but immune to the frost spell, while the fire creatures can easily be destroyed by frost. [Much like the shock beetles are immune to shock.] I have found, however, that most all human creature are easily killed with shock, especially if weakness to shock is added to the effect. One spell I have that is super-deadly to most everything is the spell Weakness to shock 20% for 6 secs - Shock damage 51 to 52 pts for 6 secs with a 40 foot kill radius . You can clear a room or town in 6 secs flat guards/ordinators or whatever It will kill everything but the toughest Guild Lords with 1 blast. The one thing you don't want to use it on is Golden Saints or any creature that can use reflect. If you do, you'll find you shall die just as quickly.
