Why not call it FleshLoader after asking if we're allowed?
It's not a question of being allowed, it's a question of whether one wants to be associated with a Kingers Project or not.
On the other hand, FleshLoader is an obvious choice for a name, and the Kingers attempt was so short-lived that it probably isn't an issue.

So someone ask him then :) I dont know him or his email and would be better from someone he knows I would imagine.
Or we could just do it :P Whats he gonna do sue us ?

Yeah, if you're happy with that name then just do it. He hasn't trademarked it or anything.

I'd love to see this as well, I uninstalled GL after it totally fucked all my T3 saves.
I'm doubly glad to hear you're not planning to use .NET, after I recently had a (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=113643&p=1589473) pointless argument with tolsen64 who's using the framework to write a little FM manager app. :erg:

Well perhaps someone could give me a list of whats required.
The ibt compressor for example. Is there a dll for it ?
Also I will have to figure out how to install them without fubaring your thief3 install so any information would be helpful. Save me from figuring it all out on my own :)
Like do I have to convert audio files or any other conversions ?

I got an idea: support for missions compressed in rar format, not only zip. Actually the former gives a better compression rate.

Well I was planning on using the 7zip library so that would mean rar,7z and zip.
I believe it even supports tar.gz as well although for a windows only app I dont think there will be much demand for that.

I like the idea for this. I hope you can keep it as simple as possible. GL annoys me too often when it randomly decides to not work.
If the app is just a small "Select the zip, click install, click play" type thing then I'll be happy. I don't care for extra features.

Don't forget the uninstall (mission) button!
Yeah, keep it simple, but because of how TDS FMs work, we need a reset button to put the old stuff back.

Yandros, I have been "religiously" keeping a full backup of my regular T3 save-games, ever since the very first GL started losing them, in an instant.
And to Thelvyn, from an unknowing and simple T3 FM game-playing Taffer. . .
Hell YES, mate! :thumb:
We'd love to see something that might just help to unlock the future of FM adventures! (And it's like. . . Could you imagine a player, who cannot even play a T3 FM, ever wanting to build a new one?) :tsktsk:
And then your new T3 Loader will open all of those possibilities, back up! :thumb:
It's a shame that the original T3 exe didn't use something like a Mods sub-directory or folder logic, from its start. (You know, the old built-in loading logic of searching for game-pieces within a Mods folder and its sub-folders, first. And then if it is not found, going on to search through the standard folder-paths.)
*** Right now, I have T3 specially installed and ready for FM work. ***
C:\games\thief3 (Just for an example.)
So, does a new "C:\games\t3fm" or a "t3mods" folder sound about right?
(This way, you'd have the entire new folder's root-name for the FM's mods.)
And then, for playing a new FM, you'd manually rename your SaveGames folder, to back it up, and then clean and install into that T3 FM Mods folder.
