NV: If you check my second post you will see that using 206.135.105.20 didn't help me.

Just refreshing the forum cache. Don't post saying it was down. Please.

ROFL - I feel like I'm in an exclusive club. I got on using the IP address thingy.
I was about to post that I've not had a single problem since making the changes on my pc. :)

Hey Dave, why was ttlg down about 20 minutes ago? :( :( :(
I like, tried typing in the URL like usual, putting in the IP in the hosts file, hacking the pentagon, nothing helped.
Should I post the whole HijackThis log file - maybe it can help you find the problem?

Since the recent DNS problems, I've had TTLG.com hard-wired to its IP address using the HOSTS file. I can't remember if I've had any connection problems since.
How do you go about doing that? I've only used a HOSTS file for stopping stuff.
Well, third night now of uninterrupted, normally speedy access. Which is nice. :)

Open
%windir%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts and add this line:
Code:
206.135.105.20 www.ttlg.com
I have no idea if that's actually a good idea. I'm just telling you how you could do it.
(In other words, don't blame me if it breaks everything.)
nickie on 10/6/2008 at 20:40
Of course I'll blame you. Aren't you, or at least the Enchantment Pack blamed for everything? :laff: :laff:
My (
http://www.greyknight17.com/hosts.php) hosts file isn't the original but is now chock-a-block full of banned sites. Mmmmm, interesting. Another thing for me to experiment with. Thanks for the info.

Wouldn't it be great if somehow nickie banned herself :ebil:

Well I could, but as this isn't CommChat, I won't. And my connection is still marvellous thank you for asking.

As your new, here is a heads up - smart replies are more suited to commchat.
Fyi: (
www.ttlg.com) suffer's from DNS issues from time to time, so try (
http://206.135.105.20/forums) when you cant connect via the normal method.
