You're thinking of his career.

On a very cold night a long time ago, He waited patiently outside Mr Knott's hotel with a banner chanting "barney barney", only to find out don had left hours before out the back exit.. sad really... stitch is very bitter now :joke:

I don't actually have anything against him, but he was Don fucking Knotts. He was the name you dropped when you wanted to elevate things to the ridiculous. Nothing wrong with that as it's proof that he was good at what he was trying to do, but the superlative-filled level of rhetoric in Spamlet's post seems completely incongruous with Knott's body of work. I'd like to think my eulogy at least sounded
sincere.
Still, only an utter cunt fags up tribute threads and I recognize right now I'm well over halfway there, so I'll bow out.

However the fuck you feel about Don Knotts, I'd at least like to take this moment to commend Spamlet for a commemorative death thread title well done.
This is how it's done boys. The "RIP {fill in name of celebrity here}" shit shouldn't fly around here. We should have standards.

Don't forget Dennis Weaver. He died just the other day too.

Did anyone ever see "Private Eyes" with Tim Conway and Knotts? I think it must be obscure b/c no one ever seems to have heard of it. It was probably mid-80's.
Spamlet on 28/2/2006 at 03:32
Yup, just read about that. Contrary to what Stitch thinks though, I don't get all hyperbolic just because any celebrity dies. I honestly did feel that Knotts' Fife is comic genius.
Weaver, to be honest, is someone who's work I've seen very little of. Aside from a great episode of "Twilight Zone" and small parts in 2 films I absolutely love ("Touch of Evil" and "The Gallant Hours") the only major thing I've seen him in was his signature movie role in Speilberg's "Duel". Then again, other than "Deadwood" I'm generally not really a fan of Westerns; and it looks as though most of his stuff was along those lines.
My Chuck Norris/Charles Bronson/Gene Hackman lovin' parents liked him alot though, so RIP to you, Mr. Dennis "Dream" Weaver.
BTW, Thanks RBJ. I always liked your curmudgeonly charm but I think that's probably the first time you've responded in a way other than flaming me and it truly means a lot.
