Colton Harris-Moore - nutcase and possible hero. Did you hear? - by SubJeff

Post night out we sat around eating a fried breakfast, rehydrating, playing PS3 and reading the news and came across this. Hey, I don't usually buy the Sunday Times but one of the crew went out for a walk and a paper. This story is hilarious.

Ok, I know that strictly speaking this guy is a criminal but the mad stuff he's done is just unreal. Everyone should read this. My fav bits are the Mercedes escape (how insane/brave must you be?!) and the Cessna stuff. Oh, and the pizza. Reminded me of The Herb Garden by Shpongle ("If you want to contact the shaman you have to leave offerings of alcohol outside the forest").
This guy has a screw loose, no doubt, but its the right one.

Kohler said she was proud her son had stolen the aircraft because he had never had a flying lesson in his life.
Sounds like he's not the only one with a screw loose.
I don't care how ub3rl33t his skills are; if he were my son, I wouldn't be proud of him in the least if he used them to steal airplanes.
Also, I have a sneaking suspicion that one of the men looking for him fired the rifle shot and they're using it as an excuse to kill the kid on sight.

Also "cheeky photographs." What exactly makes a photograph "cheeky"?
(
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/cheeky) Definition.
I think they're referring to the photographs as such because it's considered very bold of him to reveal his face when he's on the run from the police. That's my interpretation, anyway.
Kid is definitely nuts, though, and unfortunately I can't see this ending well for him.

Also, the article states that he learned to fly from playing "video games" (presumably Flight Simulator - you aren't going to learn to fly with Ace Combat or whathaveyou). It also said he's lived in the woods since he was 7. How was he playing Flight Simulator in the woods? Power generator?

Neither would I. If my kid showed up one day with a stolen aircraft, I'd backhand the little bastard and tell him to use his damn brain for once in his life and lift something he could easily turn around for quick profit. An aircraft isn't, after all, a piece of property that's well known for being fencable cheaply, easily, or discreetly.

This statement shows that you look down on any values or beliefs different from yours. You have proven to us that you are closed minded, and therefore that anything you say can't be trusted logically.
What's next? Is he going to start bashing gays? Perhaps he's going to start condemning any religion other than his own as evil and worthy of being persecuted?
Its a dangerous road he's on. Renzatic advocates backhanding kids who violate his standards, its only a small jump from there to advocating the backhanding of overweight people for violating the sin of gluttony.
Anyway, their statements show a connection to a segment of the population that we all know to be clinically insane, who deny basic truths about ethical relativism. They deserve all the ridicule and mocking they're going to get.
It seems I've severely underestimated the level of stupid present.

SPARE THE ROD, SPOIL THE CHILD FATTIES!
...or the back of the hand, as the case may be.

The very fact that he left a photograph would be considered cheekiness. I guess in America you might call it "having jersey" or "front".
Erm..I think.
EDIT:- As already told by Enchantermon
Being too tall for most beds myself, I feel a strong affinity to my wild brother.

Oh dear
god no. Fronting means something totally different and "having jersey" makes no goddamn sense, it reads like some imaginary Britishism said by someone having tea and monocles at a cricket game.
No, this kid is just plain
hardcore. He is
doing it for the lulz.

Um...what?
I'm closed minded because I think a kid shouldn't be praised for stealing an airplane?
I don't think a person should go around murdering other people, either. Does that also make me closed minded?
