Colored reflections on "transparent water" surface:[/CENTER]
Let me introduce you another interesting illusion of colored reflection on some "transparent water" surface. Once again, it is not a real in-game reflection, it's only an illusion of "reflection". It's perfect to use this method, if you want some texture to be mirrored in a water once or two in some particular place. Example of the way it looks in game:

HOW TO MAKE IT:This method is based on the original illuminated colored stained glass window's silhouette from TDS (for example, TDS OM Rutherford's Castle). This "reflection" is created by
lights of FL_Spot or FL_Spot_No_Shadows type. To assign a colored texture just add its name into
Lighting - FL Light Texture - Name property (Attention! Normal textures don't work here!). To make its reflection bigger use
Lighting - Light Shape - Light Cone. To make it shine brighter use
Lighting - Light Shape - Light Radius. You can even add a colored tinting to the light (
Lighting - Light Color), if you want to. For better clarity, all the lights that you'll need for the illusion are shown and all the properties, that you'll have to change, are pointed with arrows on the following screenshots:

If you spend some more time for better fitting the "reflection" to the scene - I mean, if you move the light source "under the water" and let the "water" show the inversed image, - then you'll have something like this:

I can't be bothered to fit it perfectly right now. The main thing is: this method is working.

Great! How many planes can one reflection show on? Can one window reflect on the horizontal and vertical faces of a stairway, as well as the walls and railings, or would that require intensive work and attention to detail?

On depends on the
number of water surfaces that are placed in the illuminated area. In other words, it's up to you:

It's simply a light, so, of cause, it will illuminate any surface and mesh (railings, ceilings, water etc.) that would be in the light's area.

I don't understand your question, sorry. Making a mission IS "intensive work and attention to detail" BY ITSELF.
