Collapsed tunnels in Hong Kong. - by Cyborg

I know, I thought it was really sad too.

Greasels? Are we still talking about the tunnel? Those were baby Karkians in the tunnel, although, I'm not sure if the man died of the Karkians, or because of his broken leg, maybe starvation? Don't know how long he was down there.

... God's got a funny sense of humor sometimes...I'm writing this on the back of an issue of "Tomorrow's Scientist."
Hundley sent me to pick up a batch of karkian eggs fresh off the plane; couldn't trust anyone else, Dr. Feng -- that's what he said. Big job. On the way back through the tunnel everything just fell apart, flash of light and noise and suddenly I'm lying here. My legs are broken. It was probably a Triad attack... they've been fighting lately...
I thought emergency services would arrive, but no one's come. There's no internal bleeding that I can tell. I started to hear noises a while ago. I think the suspension crate in the car broke open and the eggs are hatching.
I can't reach anyone on my phone. It's been eight hours. I slept a little. I can hear the baby karkians -- cries of hunger, precursor to infant food seeking behavior. The irony is this is a perfect environment for them.
I saw a shadow of one a little ago. My rough guess is they're developing almost 20% more quickly than expected. Some nasty noises earlier, several of the karkians picking out the weakest of the litter and tearing it to pieces.
I wish someone would come...

Poor man... I feel so sorry for him. It seems most likely that he was killed by the baby karkians.

I'm replaying the game and I felt sorry for that guy too... So I took it upon myself to take his body out from the tunnel. I brought him to the Luminous Path compound, placed him in Tong's laboratory. He was bleeding all over Tong's tables, but hopefully, Tong can do something for him, at least a decent burial.

Aww... That part is so sad. :tsktsk:

That was a very nice thing you did Deiyen, but since he was a Versalife scientist, it would probably have been better to take him back to Versalife. Not sure how they treat their employees though. Seems to think of them as resources rather than as human.
Deiyen on 30/5/2002 at 22:21
Hmm, now that I think about it, you're right. Although, I wouldn't really know where to place him in Versalife. Dropping him at the reception desk or at the data entry cubicles would seem a bit out of place, and placing him in the labs might not be the best for him...

Deiyen: You can put the poor man in the lab`s laser beam. Remember, there were some bums dead in those beams. Maybe it will resurrect him.
