You can get there from the vents in the freeze room of a restaurant in the Tunnels (?) level.

Yes, and be sure to either have a swimming skill of "Trained" or above, or have a couple rebreathers handy.

Precisely, you have to go to the Old China Hand's refrigerated room and climb up the crates to reach the air conditioning ducts. Just follow the ducts and you will get there eventually. I also suggest you have some underwater weapons on you and as CHILLman said, a rebreather too. One is enough if you use it wisely, in other words don't use it until you are out of breath. There is a map bug to do with this area. If you swim around the canals you get to a wall with a hole which shows you the collapsed tunnel. However there is an invisible area around that hole which means you can't move properly. Of course you cannot access the collapsed tunnel through that tiny hole.

Thanks... I missed that area, but now im going to search it.

Except to thoroughly explore both ends and you don't need a rebreather/swimming if you have Regeneration.
CHILLman on 28/4/2002 at 01:18
That's a tremendous waste of energy. Not only that, but the problem is compounded by the fact that you swim at like half speed when you're out of oxygen.

With the regeneration augmentation upgraded to level 4, one would require at least 2 biocells to explore the tunnel. Most people would not have their regeneration augmentation upgraded past level 2 at that point, and so most would require up to 4 biocells. Of course one could just get recharged at the repair bot but that is assuming that all players know the hidden compartment on the junk ship. Why go to all this trouble when rebreathers are lying around for the picking?

the way that man died by the greasels was sad. :(
it's one of my favorite scenes, along with the last will that soldier left in the underwater base.
