Did you miss the part where he was STANDING TEN FEET FROM THE MOST POWERFUL MAN IN THE WORLD AND TAKING THE PISS OUT OF HIM AT THE SAME TIME then?
-100 Reading comprehension.
I said in my post, he inherently gets a certain measure of humour from that, but since that's
THE POINT of the goddamn thing he can't score all his merits based on that. So my opinion stands.
Also, if that's your definition of subtle humour... eh.
Not to mention the fucking stupid 5 or so minutes spent with Colbert running away from a White House Reporter, SO FUNNY!

I think you're looking at it wrong, Scots. Colbert's WHCA speech was more Andy Kaufmanian in style. None of the live audience is laughing because they know what he's saying is true, and are thus profoundly uncomfortable, but on the inside Stephen is laughing his ass off at them (and doing an AMAZING job of staying in character while doing it.) And I certainly thought it was hilarious. "I can't believe he's fucking saying this" funny, not "LMAO" funny.

No, I get that. It's still not that good, in my opinion.

Your opinion sucks. I suggest you get a new one.
And you're a doodoo head... so there :p

You're opinion sucks.
Not as much as your spelling.
And FUCK ALL OF YOU, Colbert is not some fucking amazing guy just because he ripped Bush a new asshole - yes, he has some balls for doing it in person but Jesus Titty-Fucking Christ, he's not the only satirist out there.

It wasn't comfortable to watch, although I'm not sure what that means. The way I see it, he was so deep in it that he had no other choice but to stay in character. Huevos grandes, for sure.
P.S.: Jon Stewart is a good man for backing him up.

Although it is NOT NEARLY as BAD as a Friers Club ROAST.

I personally think it was funny as hell. But then again, I like his show and the daily show too. I can understand though how a european/austrailian sourpuss might not like it though, good thing nobody cares.
