Should have tried the dark chocolate covered coffee beans, Scots. I can eat those until I'm humming like a high tension wire in a hurricane.
I've had those tons of times. Used to scoff those while downing burning sambuca shots during LAN parties, lol.

I drink about 30 cups a day. I make it from a dark roast blend in a Peruvian cold water extractor. 1 pound of coffee, 32 ounces of cold water, steep overnight, filter and use the extract. Then use about 2 oz. for a 6 ounce cup and fill with hot water.
When I'm lazy I use Uban in a Drip or French press. In the press I use about two measures (4 tbs) per cup. In the drip about 3 scoops, heaping for a 6 cup pot.
Ideally, water 180 degrees, two Tbs per 6 ounce cup. BLACK no flavoring no cream no sugar. For me that additional crap is like watering whiskey or scotch. I want to taste the flavor of the different blends, not milk or sugar.

I drink my coffee by filling a cup with a tablespoon of ground coffee, filling up the cup with hot water and then blowing on the floating grounds until they sink to the bottom. For some reason this is met with almost universal horrified disgust. Maybe it's due to a subconcious floater/ sinker connotation.

Best coffee i ever had was medium latte with 2 espresso shots from Californian Coffee Company police boxes when i lived in Edinburgh. Well, on the occasion when the baristas weren't burning the beans
Best americano i have had has to be on Virgin trains. I've tried all the major chains and they don't come close to either of the above.

Oh, GBM... Instant??? :(
Get a coffee maker with a timer, man. There's nothing like waking up to the smell of brewing coffee.

ohh that does sound good, right now I'm using a cheap ass $10 coffee maker from walmart, it's the cheapest you can possibly buy.

It was the most foul and unrepetently burnt coffee I've ever tasted in my life, it tasted like cigarette butts marinated in piss with hot water added. I threw it in the bin after the second sip confirmed the horrors of the first and I've vowed never to set foot in another Starbucks, and I never have.
Fuck Starbucks, all the way.
Seconded. I avoided trying it for years; probably because several years ago I worked in a large corporation and it was oh-so-trendy to walk into the office in the a.m. with a large Starbucks, and my herd instincts suck (except where my family's concerned) (plus acting like a lemming never appealed to me). When I did try it, not only was it ghastly (yeah; it definitely tasted burnt and waaaayyy too bitter), but within a short while after taking a few sips I started feeling like I was O.D.ing on amphetamines.
I'll stick to Folgers. I usually take a little coffee (& sugar) in my milk in the mornings, so as long as I get some caffeine in my system before anyone expects me to act human the brand isn't all that important.
