Am I right in thinking that there's an Ogg Vorbis filter that allows more than one video stream? That would be a neat gimmick. Otherwise I vote for splitscreen. Awkward, but probably the best of a bad bunch of options.

Has there been any progress with getting this online yet? If it doesn't get accepted by SDA (I know there's some rules about multiplayer speedruns) I could secure some webspace if you need it.
I'm really looking forward to seeing this, regardless. Sounds awesome.

Hey everyone,
I am still around and editing the video, but I have been in the middle of switching apartments (basically had no apartment to live in for 15 days) and starting college for the final year. However, things are calming down and I can get cranking on the video.
The final video will be splitscreen (side by side) using two 320x240 resolution videos for a final size of 640x240, and in XviD. The real trick is making sure the videos are properly synchronized (e-mails from SHODAN, etc are playing at the same time with as little echo effect as possible). Sorry to keep everyone waiting. Even if it's not accepted at SDA (unlikely), I will still find a way to host it somewhere.

Good to hear from you at last! And good to hear that you managed to make the video splitscreen. Can't wait to see it!

If SDA doesn't accept it, you may want to contact Kolya or averroes about hosting.

Looking forward to it! :thumb:
(But how about additional videos without the splitscreen? Would that be possible?)

What's the status on this video? I'm really looking forward to it.

Hello again everyone,
I'm not dead - just busy with my last year of college and job hunting (if you follow the thread on SDA, you know about that). Right now I am making final adjustments like matching gameplay synchronization, sound levels, and brightness levels. At this point, I have 7 of 36 segments left.
Also, I can make non-split screen versions for simpler viewing. However, my portion of the video has no music (this was actually unintentional on my part, but only having music for one of the two players worked out nicely).

<s>I'm</s> He's not dead yet! <s>I'm</s> He's getting better!
Good to hear that there's still progress being made! Good luck with the job search and the end of college!

(This is a re-post from my SDA thread)
Let's keep the System Shock 2 speedrunning interest going with a release of our co-op speedrun. I've gone ahead and uploaded the SS2 videos to my university's personal webspace. Don't worry, you should get good connection speeds.
The video is in two parts in both splitscreen (2) and seperate (4) versions, for a total of six videos. The splitscreen versions are very busy, so you may want to grab the seperate videos for more "relaxed" viewing.
Without further delay, the URL (it's a directory listing):
(
http://www-personal.umich.edu/~mminuth/avi/sda_ss2_coop/) http://www-personal.umich.edu/~mminuth/avi/sda_ss2_coop/
Note: XVID codec required.
We're working on comments, too, but unless some people express real interest in reading about our endeavours, we're holding up until we get an SDA acceptance.
However, some important things to note:
* My side of the screen goes black in part1 split screen because I finish training before D, so I am technically given a loading screen until he finishes.
* While doing the research-reclaim trick on HydroBC, D gets a graphical glitch and you can't see the upgrade text. He mouse-overs each category, though, so you can see what is what.
