Hey,
My friend and I have completed a prelim co-op speedrun and are starting our final run in a couple days (the prelim run was to determine what items we truly needed). Now, for those interested in watching the run (there must be some here who do :D ), what sort of format would you like to see it in? We were planning on a side-by-side run with additional audio or text commentary in the complex parts (Hydroponics B/C, Command, Rickenbacker Pod 1).
Moreover, we may be able to beat this thing in under 30 minutes. Not making any promises, but if we can pull off some new tricks we discovered, then it's very possible.
Update: Videos uploaded! See page 2 for details!

wow! that sounds like great fun to watch :)
Side-by-side sounds good, then you can see what everyone's up to :)

How are you planning on recording it? :erm: Are you recording it with Fraps on both computers, or something?

well, i cant deny that it would be fun to watch :ebil:
however i do have doubts about beating ss2 in 30 minutes :p
as for the format, i would go for mpeg or quicktime, there arent really any other better alternatives

I agree with a side-by-side view. Unfortunately, I need some software that can place two videos in that fashion. Perhaps the computer labs around here have some.
We're both going to use FRAPS to record, then I'll grab my friend's video, edit and compress to avi (XVID, most likely).
If we want to get sub 30 minutes, we have to find a way to shave about two minutes from places other than BotM and Where Am I?. This isn't as daunting as it seems, because our prelim run involved grabbing much more stuff than we really needed. For example, I grab a shotgun and perfect pistol on Ops and never use either. We want to finish the game with as little as possible, as this means a more optimal run.

30 min? Lots of levelchange teleporting? :) Sounds like fun :/

There's about a bazillion formats you can code into an AVI file. The last format I'd go for is QuickTime, 'cept for perhaps RealPlayer format.
Oh, I forgot WMV. Bleah.

I'd say DivX or Xvid.

Just posting an update on the run:
We're done with Decks 1-3, and will start Ops today. I am sure we will get under 30 minutes now, as we saved a lot of time by going for a minimalist approach.
Some funny things happen when you do a co-op run. For example, in hydroA, I originally grabbed the vial of Tox-A for use in the regulator. This time around my partner gave me a vial from hydroBC (saved some time there). We had completed hydroA in a great time, but we later realized that no one had picked up the vial! D'oh!
