No offence, but this movie wasn't made for you, man. I think you would have had more fun in John Tucker Must Die.
Oh, har har. You're saying the comedy in this movie doesn't mesh with the typical comedy of a seventeen year old? You forget, most kids my age still laughs at fart jokes. Then again, I could probably name a few here that still do and there's nothing wrong with that at all ;)

Hilarious justification for how RyushiBlade was a fool for not seeing the huge red ONLY PAY TO SEE THIS IF YOU SAW THE FIRST ONE banner hanging in every movie theatre
To pick a Kevin Smith analogy, that's like saying the whole point of seeing Empire Strikes Back is to find out what happened to the characters from Star Wars.

Precisely.

That's not the point I was making (which is, as Pyrian described, that if you knew what to expect, the criticisms that RyushiBlade made become rather meaningless), but Turtle's point does have some validity.
The difference between Star Wars and Clerks is that there was actually a real plot to Star Wars, and you ultimately care about the story arc first, the characters second. That's almost exactly NOT the case with clerks, which is just about a couple of guys and their snappy dialogue.
And while I don't think Smith meant to discourage anyone who didn't like or see Clerks, his view askewniverse is something that's really only appreciated by die-hards.
Kevin Smith's pretty much come out and said that the reason he did Clerks II was that he loved the characters, they felt really dear to his heart and he wanted to see how their lives turned out. I'm sure it's not because he felt he had this great story to tell. Turtle's really not off base on that one at all.
So yeah, of course you can see Clerks II without having seen the first (and probably a couple of Smith's other movies as well), but if you haven't than you're not going to appreciate a lot of what makes the movie entertaining to his fans.

I'm going to see it this weekend; but I have a question - what is the song played at the end of the second trailer? I think it's called CHeck It Out; but I dont know who its by (note: might be wrong on that count)...
