The Duty guys at Agroprom south sell the SEVA suit. I think they, the Stalkers at Agroprom Factory and Freedom over in Dark Valley sell the better 'Bear' detector.
I sort of hope you can't find these things, what with playing the market and getting allegiance discount being such a big part of this game. It's Freelancer on land. There's plenty to gather up and sell along the way (I just have to make the duty guy like me a bit more so he won't charge twice the price!)
Koki on 31/10/2008 at 22:28
I didn't even know being friendly gives me a discount.
Which leads me to another thing, since I went to Cordon Clear Sky is not friendly anymore, and the Factions War window says I'm not in any faction in Swamps. Is this normal?
Muzman on 1/11/2008 at 08:21
Yeah, keep an eye out for that. The price you get when you hover over an item is just the RRP. Not sure quite how it all works yet but friendlies give a better deal. Some a probably stingy bastards to some degree all the time.
And, yeah Clear Sky went back to mostly neutral after I went to Cordon and their guides started charging me.
Annoyed aside; I just changed my AK to take 5.56 in Agroprom and was having fun fighting the bandits when the Stalker trader takes a stray bullet in the head! (don't ask me how) Now I have nowhere nearer than Dark Valley to get more ammo. (I'm supposed to got see Sakharov but the sod won't let me in).

More importantly, why this is most popular gun in STALKER? And is it just me or it does twice the damage when you use the scope?
When you use the scope the gun obviously becomes more precise, hence deadlier. Vintorez is the most popular gun (actually more so in SoC than in CS) because it's kind of hybrid of a sniper and an assault rifle, 2 in 1. It's quite precise and simultaneously doesn't have main disadvantage of a sniper rifle - low rate of fire. AFAIR, you can upgrade clip capacity of Vintorez in CS, I'm not sure though.

And few more questions:
- When will I find Groza
- When will I find SEVA
- When will I find better detectors
Sellers will sell them, you also can get some of the equipment for free as rewards for participating in factions war.

- Are the stashes you can buy location info about different kind than the ones you get from bodies? I.e. is it possible to get their location just by searching bodies, or can they only be bought?
That's something I myself would like to know.

Yes, the Swamps is considered a training location, and you loss CS membership once you leave it.

So what can I do to get in again? Their leader won't even talk to me.
And mothra, could ya give me the name of that realistic mod?

Nothing, you can't rejoin CS.

- When will I find Groza
I know two places where you'll surely find one. 1.
Red Forest, to the NW there is a bandit camp in an old railway tunnel. One of the bandits has one. 2.
When assaulting the Army Warehouses as part of the main quest, the sniper in the far watch tower armed with one.Quote:

Some traders will have them later on, when I joined Stalkers early on, the trader would then sell me one. I also got one as a reward for wiping out a faction.

There is a Veles (sp?) detector hidden in the swamp, it's the best type. (

As far as the flash drives are concerned, their locations can only be bought or given as rewards. As for the others, I'm not sure.

It's also silenced and as it does a lot of damage it's easy to take enemies out without being spotted. And while it does have a small magazine it is quick to reload.

Thought I'd update on a few curiosities. Hope you're all following along.
I couldn't get in to see Sakharov at all for ages. I think it was because an emission came just as I crossed back to Agroprom and something weird happened (took me a few goes to notice that emission hiding spots work as objectives and you can't just hide anywhere reasonably sheltered like in AMK).
Anyway I wandered around for a while hoping Saky would just start working properly again, but he didn't. During this time I bit the bullet and joined the stalkers/loners. Somewhere around this point I was given a Seva suit by someone (probably the Stalkers on initiation) and the Stalker trader in Cordon started selling the Seva suit and whole bunch of other good stuff he didn't before (members only I guess. While wandering around I also discovered you can walk (
http://members.iinet.net.au/~ragtag/yantar.jpg) fucking anywhere in yantar with minimal effort).
Anyway long story short; I read somewhere that the alarm is what decides if Sakharov opens the door, but that had long finished and there weren't any stray zombies around. So I set it off again by murdering some random stalker (whose clan I'm in remember) and once the fuss died down, he let me in.
