This just shows how good SoC was; the revisits are all fun and are open for the most part, while Clear Sky exclusives (except Swamps) are awfully restricted and short (here I'm going by your words...;)).

From 4 new maps, 2 are nice (Swamps and Red Forest), and 2 are corridors (Limansk and Hospital).

I'm not sure if you mean that Red Forest was as bad as Limansk and Hospital, but I think the RF is one of the most atmospheric maps in both games, even though it's really not that big as it seems judging by map.
What I mean is that red forest, as good a map as it is, is completely underused in the game along with the army warehouses. Like I said I barely spent 2 hours in red forest and maybe 1 hour in the warehouses. Of course it probably depends on the players, maybe you've spent more time in those maps but overall I thought they could have put more content in them. For example the main quest leads us into the army warehouse but beyond that there isn't much to do there.

I spent more, firstly because I made an objective for myself to find all arts, and secondly because of 3 or 4 side quests in the Red Forest which became accessible after I'd sent the radio message.

Speaking of the artifacts, where can a better detector be found? My next goal is Red Forest and I'm still using good ol' Echo. I haven't found any artifact so far, only seen the detector move twice, somewhere in Swamps and near the stalker base in Cordon.

You can buy them from faction traders, but maybe you'll need to accomplish some tasks for them or commander of their faction first, also you get them as rewards for joining factions/leading your faction to victory. Check what Sakharov sells too. I can't say for sure because I had no problems with the detectors, I firmly remember that I bought a "Bear" from the Loners trader though.

Every time you see an "anomaly field" you may be sure there is an artifact inside. But the high-grade arts are detectable only with advanced detectors. F.e. you won't be able to detect a Golden Fish with Echo or even Bear, you'll need Veles. Check these maps if you can't find the anomaly fields: (
http://domkrat.nm.ru/clear_sky_faq.htm). The small balls are artifacts. I counted 49 pieces ;)

I want that Veles, better start doing some side-missions for the factions.
And thanks for the link by the way. But I feel like pres. Bush while checking out that webpage, needing pictures to be worth checking out, my Russian has been collecting dust lately. :p

You should get a Bear when you join the loners, and Sakharov will sell the Veles.
Always whip out your detector when you see anomalies, also the place with the acid clouds in Garbage has some nice artifacts.

Didn't feel like starting a new thread . . .
For anybody living in Canada: if you bought a retail boxed copy of Clear Sky, can you tell me where you got it from?
I haven't dilligently searched all the possible retailers that could be carrying it, yet. But so far, I can't find the bloody thing anywhere. Shadow of Chernobyl, sure. But not Clear Sky.
I figure I've waited long enough for most of the bugs to have been patched out. I probably won't get around to playing it right away, anyway. So if another patch is imminent, even better.

I just bought it from EB Games the day of release. Though day of release isn't really accurate, because of the recall, but the day they got it in. I walked in and got the "last copy" which... I dunno, I would wager they didn't order that many copies. But yeah, it occurs to me that I haven't seen it at Future Shop any of the times I've been there since, nor have I seen it at any other EBs, though I haven't really been looking. May have to try ordering it online, or maybe see if EB will order it for you, I think they do that if you put a deposit down.
