I already answered that. Red Forest didn't have wild beasts except the illusion one, although it is significantly redesigned this time so fingers crossed.
Yantar is zombies infested, Wild Territory is all about wild beasts, and Pripyat is a stalker warzone. CS has Yantar covered, hopefully the new maps make up for the other two highlights.

Erm. Do you mean Scorcher map from SoC when you say "Red Forest didn't have wild beasts except the illusion one"? CS's Red Forest map isn't SoC's Scorcher map, it's a new area.

Have you seen it? I haven't it. Until I see it I can't say what "a new idea" means exactly. All I know is wild territory is out.

Not yet, I asked you because I read that Red Forest is the only location in CS with lots of monsters and few people, and also is quite eerie.

That's good, that means zombie and wild beasts are covered, so if Limansk is not a complete warzone I'd be sad.
TBH wild territory is the only location in CS stalker with "lots of monsters and few people." Maybe Agroprom, it's like 30/70 monster to human. I can't think of another.
But wild territory was compelling cus a lot of monsters engaged small groups of humans there instead of like in Agroprom where they don't meet at all, which is like everywhere else. Huge npc fights is a big part of stalker, and we need more human vs monsters. The more skewed the ratio, more survival-oriented a game becomes. Human vs human just doesn't have that level of tension.

Yeah, the Red Forest in CS is a different location to that in SoC. There are a number of people in there, but far fewer than other locations and the number of mutants is far greater.

I just played Clear Sky today for the first time and wow! I was pleasantly surprised by a lot of great stuff added.
This is really the better version of SOC in every way. Sure a few quirks here and there (I still hate the fact that the degradation of your suit has a lot of impact on protection), but they I can ignore those.
It does run pretty bad if I max out everything with enhanched hdr on, but I managed to get it to work stable while still looking pretty well.
I haven't ran into any bugs yet and I'm actually waiting to see if anything the "pro" reviewers of various sites are whining about is really that bad. So far nothing bothered me and unless they put a fuzzy pink rabbit as a last boss or something I doubt anything will.
Yes I'm in a very happy mood.:cheeky:

So I played a little more yesterday.
Clear Sky has like, no story. I just go from map to map "leveling" my guy. Seems it's not propelled by a linear narrative like Stalker, I've yet to get a lick of storyline after the intro and I'm at Yantar already. Curiously, bandits are the only faction with clear, functional step-by-step way to enter into; every other faction I've tried either has bugged quests, or the main guy is locked away in a building I can't get into, or just plain won't give me the dialogue option to join. So I'm in Yantar, still factionless and I think I'm stuck (the door to the mobile lab is locked and psi emission is killing me, gotta backtrack...). All the quests involving collecting PDAs up to this point have been bugged. In fact I have no main quest lol, it's so strange.
On the plus side I have the Veles detector now and it kicks Echo's ass up down sideways. The beginner detector sucks so bad.:p

The door to the lab probably isn't stuck - the scientists are friggin paranoid. If there is a single zombie, half dead and thrashing on the ground withing spitting distance of them, the bunker door stays locked.
I made the mistake of leaving there during the questline, came back to discover that the stalkers protecting it were all dead, the scientists were on lockdown, and the exterior of the place was night of the living dead. Man, that sucked. Had to kill every last zombie, and those fuckers just don't go down with a shot to the head.
The stalker and freedom factions both delay you joining. Stalker faction will let you join after you complete the main quest in the area. Freedom you have to come back to join, for reasons that are probably pretty obvious if you've played past that point.
And yeah, everything is better the Echo. Veles is as good as it gets though. Guess you skipped bear.

I just remembered something...
I think my main quest is bugged up. I was suppose to get this package for the stalkers in cordon but they never gave me a pda marker. That'd explain why so many important characters are locked behind doors.
Damn, don't think I'll be going to red forest unless I make a dash through the psi emission with all my healing artifacts equipped. I've had no crash whatsoever, just gotta figure out how to get my main quest to start up again.
NVM I think I'm fooked, gotta wait for patch 1505 and restart game. In the meantime guess I'm just gonna keep going to see how far I can make it with no main quest lol
