I was hoping it would be released in August. :erg:
Ah well, 5th September isn't that far away.

First impressions of players are very different.
Some say it's great, overall better than SoC, the world is more rich, and they barely could force themselves to stop playing. Others report lots of bugs, errors, and it seems are annoyed by many things.
But all are agreed that Zone became more beautiful, even more crowded than it was in SoC, at least first locations, and there is more action going around.
BTW, GSC already released the first patch ;)
PS: It seems most are quite pleased.

Damned ruskis, I want it NOW!
Stupid Australia, not being Russia..

I actually don't know what "ruskis" have to do with Clear Sky's release :cheeky:
PS: Many say the game seems considerably less gloom and scary than SoC thanks to hordes of people everywhere and near absence of monsters, they say almost all the monsters somehow spawn in the Red Forest (new location) and only few appear in Swamps, Cordon, or Garbage :erg: Maybe the situation will change later in the game though. Also, I learned there is only ONE new monster in CS - swamp bloodsucker. There is many other new elements though, that devs partly loaned from AMK mod it seems. In any case CS differs from SoC much more than f.e. T2 from T1.

Man; walking around in long reeds (probably knee deep in water) with bloodsuckers about... special swamp bloodsuckers at that...

The thing is that as it seems it's either under protection of Greenpeace or is extremely afraid of Scar, only few Scars have seen it so far :) It jumps out from hiding, grabs people, and jumps away with its new toy. Has been noticed not only on Swamps.
Many negative comments appear about TONS of NPCs everywhere.

Well, at least the good thing about CS coming out later for the rest of us is that probably by the time it reaches our hands, many of its flaws will be corrected already (by either official patches or fan made mods).

One location has "boss" - helicopter with LIFE BAR, I mean life bar in stalker, wtf. Pripyat undergrounds didn't make it into the game, yet another one promised but absent location. Really dangerous encounters with monsters happen only in Red Forest, and the location is really frightful at night. Nights are much darker than in SoC. Some locations are overloaded with people to the last degree. Maps themselves are generally beautiful and have more small details than in SoC. Artifacts are invisible, rare, and hard to get (only with detectors). Money is harder to accumulate. There is virtually no single anomalies now, almost all of them are grouped in "anomaly fields", so it's very unlikely you'll get into an anomaly accidentally. Many bugs, even though it seems not all experience them. Suits generally have just a few slots for artifacts so their usefulness is under question if compared with SoC, but they cost more. Overall number of interesting quests and stories easily tops those in SoC, something interesting happens often. Conversations are more interesting and varied too. Weapon damage system is different, some say it's from AMK mod, they say like many barrels have similar damage, and usefulness of a weapon is defined more by its current upgrades and modifications (and they are quite varied) than weapon itself, so hunting for unique weapons like it was in SoC now doesn't have much sense. There are some minigames in the camps. Some already finished the game and claim it took about 10 hours from them, but I think they tried to finish it as soon as possible so they hadn't experienced even half of it, still it seems it's shorter than SoC. Overall feels more action and less eerie than SoC.
Some mixed impressions from various posts. Even don't know what to think about it all :erm:

Mixed bag, I guess.

eh, nothing that something like AMK won't fix, well, except for that underground level unless it's forgotten in the game files;
