Eh, it will be a matter of an hour to get used to how far can you run.
They could also remove the radiation meter while at it, and force you to carry/use a geiger counter or whatever. Radiation is invisible and deadly, that's what's so scary about it, something STALKER didn't deliver quite well...

But your ecumberance varies. Actually I found the heavy breathing in the game fairly annoying, but not as much as in one of the mods... ITT it was Oblivion Lost mod, in which when I was badly wounded and had no medkits, I moved like a slug and had to listen to HUUUUUUUUUUUUH HUUUUUUUUUH HUUUUUUUUH for almost ten minutes until I managed to crawl to Sidorovich's basement and buy some healing herbs.

The heavy breathing only starts when you're already unable to run, so it's not that useful as an indicator of how tired you are.
And that behaviour when you're heavily wounded also happens in the vanilla game, it isn't added by a mod.

So let me get this straight, the player doesn't know how tired he is or where his 'limit' lies but knows exactly how visible and audible he is and where every thrown enemy grenade is located.

Quoted for truth. Health and stamina need to be shown in the game because they're the sorts of things your character
knows. Taking them out in favor of a minimalist HUD only works with gimmicky game mechanics (CoD4's health for example).
I'd like to see the game made so that you don't have a Geiger counter or any method of detecting anomalies by default, and would need to purchase appropriate gear.

But you can heal yourself with bandages and food in vanilla, which are fairly accessible from the beginning of the game (when it happened to me).

I may be wrong, but I think CS is made exactly like that. Didn't Scar get the basic type detectors from the merchant in that 25-min gameplay demo movie?
About the stamina indicator - it's really a controversial decision. If they provided another way of fatigue awareness - it may be good , or it may be not. If they didn't, it's clearly bad.

It's an artifact detector. I mean the beeping thing that warns you when you're near anomalies. And you also have a built-in Geiger counter.

Yet all isn't exactly the same this time around. Things are a little more built-up, a little less desolate and decayed. Buildings in Cordon left dark and abandoned in Shadow of Chernobyl are populated by faction groups in Clear Sky. The grasses are greener, the skies significantly brighter, and there seem to be less horrifying mutants populating the landscape.
