Heh, Oleg just confirmed what many of us have suspected all along. "Make your game as easy as possible, so that any really non-intellectual person can play it" aka dumbing-down, is rife in the industry at the moment.
Here's hoping GSC stand their ground and don't succumb to the same fate, with their games.

I don't think mr. oleg is a filthy, stinking liar ;)
And I don't have anything against tutorials, no matter how stupid they are done or distracting while "taking" the player by the hand AS LONG as it can be skipped, turned off (lootglint + objective arrow) or tweaked. They can make as many flash-tutorials or helpers they want to, just make it toggable like it should be the standard for every game. And make the difficulty scale in a better way: not only through higher health/more hitpoints but better reactions, awareness and maybe even advanced tactics.

There was a time when we trusted Ken, too.

Whoa, nice read. Most "facts and not PR bullshit" interview I've ever seen.
And I'm beginning to wonder if it would be possible to play STALKER on Clear Sky engine...

I have 50gb free on my hd, so that's where additional vista partition will go, especially tailor-made (meaning all things vista/aero removed) for playing STALKER Clear Sky on DX10. but I'll stick with my 8800 for now, will wait for prices to fall and if the new nvidias are really that awesome, maybe go for a 280 instead of the cheaper 260. cheap, hahaha, can't believe I used that word.
