taking cover and firing blindly and proper squad mechanics sound new to me. apart from that many things were done by mods but that's the developer, I think they will do a better job, screenshots of the parallax mapping already show a better handling than the Skyace mod had. of course mods didn't have access to the source code, they could've easily surpassed that but it's still something gsc is "allowed" to take credit for I think. Just the video with the different detectors alone made me wish august were here.
I think GSC will again go for a more "easy and fps-like" configuration were you can soak up more bullets and put the "realistic" tweaking back into mods hands. even if the game is aimed at the STALKER fan they won't make it insanely hard like their freeplay mod.

Is there another location for this video? The downloading thing for this requires some weird input from "text attached to a cat." Every letter they had as a security thing were attached to a cat in my eyes, so if you get it wrong, you have to wait at the end of the queue again.

Those cats & dogs sometimes get me too :)
I'm downloading right now. It's happy hour, and therefore you don't need to answer any questions before downloading.
P.S.- The video doesn't show anything particularly interesting, IMO.

If you have a little bit of time, please ask devs on official forums about the known bug/defect which makes stealth approach impossible after save/load. The enemies always know precisely where you are after load even if they can't physically hear and see you.
I continually have asked the question if it's fixed in CS, but it seems they either ignore it, or don't care. Maybe mass pestering will help :)

Here's a new (
http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=152393&page=2) interview with Oleg Yavorsky, Clear Sky's PR director.
My favourite part :

Our games have always been hardcore, which has always been a struggle with publishers. Big companies always want you to make your game
as easy as possible, so that any really non-intellectual person can play it. They want all sorts of tutorials to guide the player through, and this is something we've always been very resistant to. In our market we're used to having cheap games. That means all our audience play a lot of games and hence they're really hardcore about them - they want really challenging games, and they don't need to be guided through with basic explanations like, "This is your gun; this is how you move."

I guess there's no danger of having a Bioshock-like game then ;)

Let's just hope that he's saying the truth, though. Although I have faith in GSC (but I admit I had faith in 2k too), I can't help but fear that Mr. Yavorsky ends up being "Mr. Levinsky".
