Oh man, i feel like Eric Cartman waiting for the Wii.

That stuff is great. I thought it was just wishful speculation that you'd be able to gather a force and go take a position and then hold it, but no you actually can do it.
Get tired of those respawning bandits and you can go and kick them out or push them back. Coolness (sure they'll probably game it up and it won't get rid of respawning altogether when you win, but implimented properly and that sort of thing could be endlessly amusing)

A little offtopic for 38x0 Radeon card owners, from the Catalyst 8.5 readme:
Stalker DX9: Performance increases by 20-50% when HDR is enabled in the game; across all ATI Radeon™ HD38x0 series of products

From the video I got it that we will be playing as Scar (Шрам), the mercenary. Now I don't remeber, do we encounter him in original game?

heh, a guy called Lebedev. I wonder if you get ordered to shoot him.

While on nVidias it will decrease by 20-50%, right? :erg:

Why?
While I didn't measure it precisely, it seems that indeed I got more FPS on my HD3870 after I had installed C8.5. It's not easy to tell because the graphics were almost perfectly fluid with older drivers too. I guess the improvement should be quite useful for Clear Sky though.

Ah yes, horny PR managers... many improvements he mentions sound great to somebody who played only vanilla, but not so to those who tried some major mods. NPCs throwing grenades, taking cover, healing, invisible anomalies - oh, the revolution! Still, I can't wait for CS. Hopefully it won't be much more hardware demanding than original Stalker.
