E3 hasnt even been in 2008 so it was kind of expected it was from last year.
The demo looks and plays great.. even more atmospheric than before. There's depth of field now, i'm not a big fan of it but it acctually looks quite nice for this game, it's more subtle than e.g Gothic3 (where it looks like shit).
Can't save in the demo so i havent played the whole yet.. AI is kinda strange, the first time they helped me and took out a tower, the next time i restarted they didnt care.

The same I'm downloading, there is one that is about 600Mb, and one about 500Mb. I wonder if they all are the same.

Well, in worst case scenario you'll get 500MB of lesbians.
Damn it sucks well, I might play it today already

Has anyone noticed in that demo as soon as the sun comes up the framerate drops below 10 fps. Those light shafts sure are pretty but at what cost... I'd like to believe the final game will be optimized but somehow I doubt it.

Um, the demo is one year old and its not released offically for a reason, i'm quite sure they have optimized it since then. Anyone who played the first leaked (pre)alpha demo of STALKER knows that much can happen before release ;)

Not that dramatic in my case (C2D2.4, HD3870). I tried it with all on max @1024x768 and even though framerate wasn't smooth, it didn't drop dramatically after the sun rised, game still remained fully playable with all on max. Of course SoC was much smother anyway, I feel I'll definitely have to decrease some graphics settings to play this thing fully comfortable if the final product will stay the same speed-wise.
From the beginning the demo visually almost doesn't differ from the original game. But soon you start to notice nice small improvements like DOF, which surely looks nice and as it was said is better implemented here than in Gothic3 f.e. And after the sun rises, it becomes, I would say, beautiful, despite some graphical glitches I noticed. The demo is almost a year old now, made just in a few months after original game, and it's DX9 only, so no fancy stuff here like in that tech demo video released recently.
I haven't actually played it yet, just watched, but it seems the swamp area is big enough, if not huge. Music is nice too. The same involving atmosphere.
